Last weekend was the event of the year in Boulder, Colorado. It was the 10k race, the Bolder Boulder, so I had to take a peek at the 50,000 runners. There were young and old alike, some as young as 6 or 7, and a woman who is 80 that has run the race for 30 years. Talk about dedication!
This week, look at where you would like to dedicate your time and energy. Warm weather is here and it feels good to be outside. Will your focus be on a healthy lifestyle, a weed-free garden, connecting with friends, or meditation under the trees? If you don’t have a goal, it is difficult to reach it. Give yourself a focus just for this week, then see if you want to continue it next week. If you start with small goals, they are easier to attain. And when you succeed in your intent, it will give you the impetus to do it again.
I find it easier to succeed when I see someone else accomplishing a similar task. It is said we are pack animals, so let the pack support you to move forward. Just think of those 50,000 people (see them run) who said I am going to run or walk the 10k of the Bolder Boulder.
