Keeping your lungs strong is wise during these challenging times with COVID-19 but it is a good general practice for health and well being.
In the last blog listed was how to visualize breathing deeply. This time you will receive an exercise that will physically add to your lungs ability to expand even more!
You can feel the difference in your chest the minute you follow this exercise.
It only takes a few minutes so it is easy to add any time during the day:
- In the morning when you awake
- When you feel the need to stretch your body
- You have come home from being in public
Notice after she stretches one side of her body how that shoulder is higher than the other. This is because she has elongated that side of her lungs and body. After she stretches the opposite side, look at her shoulders again. They are now level. And she is keeping her lungs strong in only 2 – 5 breaths.
While you are breathing in this position, recall the technique you learned in the July 24th blog and keep that visual in mind. Recalling that visual alone will increase your lung capacity during this exercise 50%.
Remember to support your lungs and stretch your back after you have been sitting for an extended period of time.
You will be amazed how good you can feel with this quick and simple process.
After you have been out in public while shopping or after dinner with friends, to ease your mind and release any fear you might have about picking up COVID-19 virus germs, do the breath expansion exercise while standing in a door way, to keep your lungs strong and healthy. Then cough a few times to release toxins in the bottom of your lungs.
