It’s summer, and what better time to express yourself than with the language of t-shirts.
I am not one to purchase or wear messages on my chest, yet I have observed that they do serve a purpose for some. But how?
The language of T-shirts
- Allows one to invite a conversation with strangers
- Reflects political views without confrontational conversations
- Shows what tribe you belong to and who may approach
- Can bring a smile to one’s day
- Affirms you are not alone in your ideas
Our society has become more distant than in the past
Before, we would write long letters and place the letters we received in a box with a ribbon for safe keeping. We would meet with friends and family face-to-face on a Sunday afternoon and talk for hours. Now, we send a short text, have a brief conversation, and sometimes have little time to do either.
It appears we are losing touch with each other, though I see the value of the t-shirt is bringing communication back. Perhaps I should purchase some.
