When you still your mind for even five minutes, though twenty is best, you will begin to see the benefits.

Western culture encourages you to have goals, targets, and a clear focus for your day.
On the other hand, eastern philosophy approaches life with a laid-back attitude of allowing life to present your best options. Both have value, but when you pile meditation onto your to-do list, you defeat the purpose of silencing the mind.
Try one of these simple meditations
- Imagine a light streaming into your head, body, and ahead of you
- Imagine being in a forest, by a brook, supported in nature
- Feel yourself floating on a cloud
- Pretend you are walking, but your feet are not touching the ground
When you think of something grim, remember a shadow is self-contained. When a light is shown in the darkness, the grim thoughts can disappear. Light expands. Darkness does not.
When you doubt your power, it is a lie. Do not allow self-judgment to diminish who you know you are. Stand in your power.
