Weight loss comes when you pay attention to exactly what you are eating.
What you eat is important but how you eat is equally vital. Focus on the taste, smell, texture, and color. Clear off the location where you will be dining to create an atmosphere of relaxation. Turn off the TV, remove reading material, communication devices, and don’t look at the web or emails. If possible, sit where you can look out, open the window and perhaps listen to the birds. Let nature be your companion. By doing so you will find you will enjoy your food, eat less and have better digestion.
Next, change your language. If you lose something the first thing you do is try to find it again. Therefore, do not think of losing weight or weight loss, use the phrase I am going to release my excess weight. Then when you drop the pounds, later they will not need to be found.
To Maintain a Healthy Weight
- Do not multi-task when eating; only eat.
- Do not read, watch tv, answer emails, or search the web.
- Create a pleasant setting for your meal.
- Chew your food slowly, observing the texture, temperature, taste, color, and smell.
- Stop eating when you just begin to feel full.
