Did you know that you could be digesting things while your eating that are not on your plate?
I am talking about thoughts and feelings. “French Women Don’t Get Fat” by Mireille Guiliano was published in 2005 and it is not a diet plan. It describes how to think and act to be slim and healthy. One concept is to eat without distractions. Do not read, watch TV, listen to a podcast, check out Facebook or surf the internet. Just eat. I have followed this guidance and it is surprising how tasty food can be when you focus in the moment on what you are doing. I even become satisfied and eat less. But this practice can become even healthier.
What are you thinking about when you eat. Did you know if you are running negative ideas while you are eating you are ingesting those problems and holding them in your body. What does the body do with it? It protects itself from this adversity by covering it with fat. If these concepts plague your mind while eating for a continued period of time it can affect you body systems and organs.
So for your own peace of mind and your health pay attention to your focus while eating. When negativity arises say “Stop,” out loud and look at the food on your plate. Notice the color, the aroma, and the texture when you take a bite.
